Unfortunately, Iraqi football fans are brutal and it’s unfair to throw these young inexperienced players under the bus like that.
Plus, why are we resorting to kids? Why does our league not produce talents that are worthy of call ups.
So much we need to fix. Bad times.

Yes, we have talented youngsters but they’re not starting regularly for their respective clubs so they’re never in peak fitness. At the same time, Casas would be mad to throw these young inexperienced players into the team. One bad performance and our fans will destroy them.

Good point. The main issue is most of those players that you’re referring to have barely played any minutes in the league this season. That’s why I continue to stress the importance of developing a reserves league for the under 21s for the development of Iraqi football.
There is a talented crop of players coming through from Emads youth team. Our midfield lacks control and creativity. I think Casas took the easy route when he should’ve called up some of these young midfielders and defenders. I don’t agree that Iraq hasn’t produced players

🚨 It’s official - Iraq part ways with Casas. The Spaniard had an incredible start as coach to the national team but a series of bad performances saw him formally dismissed from his role tonight, as reported earlier.
A disappointing end for all parties involved.

When Iraq was winning, nobody was thanking me.
Now that Casas is gone and we’re losing, I have morons blaming me saying the FA pays me to bring players to the national team and the losses are my fault.

There was enough drama and disappointment as it is yesterday with the match. There really was no need for the Iraqi media to make up such nonsense.
But alas, it wouldn’t be Iraqi football without all the made up stories, drama and hyperbole.

Just to clarify: Contrary to what some pages carelessly reported online yesterday, Akam Hashim was not “forgotten by the team bus”.
The player stayed behind to complete his anti-doping tests alongside Lucas Shlimon. This is normal protocol in football and happens every match.
